* Pavarotti Recovering Following Cancer Surgery Opera star Luciano Pavarotti is recovering in a New York City hospital today after undergoing surgery for pancreatic cancer this week. The Italian tenor, 70, was preparing to leave the US to perform the British leg of his farewell world tour when doctors found a malignant pancreatic mass. Pavarotti's representative Terri Robson says, "Fortunately, the mass was able to be completely removed at surgery. "Mr Pavarotti is recovering well and his physicians are encouraged by the physical and emotional resilience of their patient." Robson also confirmed all of her client's 2006 concerts have been cancelled, but it is hoped he will begin touring again in 2007. Una delle voci migliori che il mondo abbia mai avuto: Luciano Pavarotti ha lasciato un segno nella storia della Lirica. Ron Howard ha deciso di raccontarne non solo la bravura, ma anche il lato umano.

Il documentario Pavarotti narra quest’affascinante storia del maestro elementare di provincia, che balza al culmine della celebrità e cerca di portare le proprie emozioni, i sogni e l’amore anche agli altri.

Il film è costruito come una sorta di Opera in tre atti, in cui attraverso interviste e materiale video rari il regista cerca di raccontare uno dei pregi maggiori attribuiti al tenore: quello di aver portato la Lirica alle masse.

Il racconto di Howard è come sempre dettagliato e segue un ritmo fluido e coinvolgente: questo film risulta interessante non solo ai fan di Pavarotti, perché racconta una storia di successo e restituisce agli spettatori la forza delle grandi emozioni.
